Nestled along the coveted waterfront corridor of West Palm Beach, Southland Park blends timeless architecture with a relaxed yet refined coastal lifestyle. The neighborhood is a showcase of South Florida design, with an alluring mix of Spanish and Mediterranean-inspired homes, complemented by thoughtfully preserved Colonial Revival residences and midcentury classics. Many of the earliest homes, some dating back to the 1920s, have been meticulously restored, reflecting a community-wide commitment to honoring the area's architectural heritage. Historic designations throughout the neighborhood help ensure that façades maintain their original character, even as interiors are sensitively updated for modern living.
Just steps from the Intracoastal, Southland Park offers residents ample opportunity for outdoor recreation—morning jogs along the waterfront, leisurely bike rides shaded by mature trees, or quick rides over the bridge to the beaches of Palm Beach Island. While the neighborhood’s charm is deeply rooted in its historic ambiance, it also offers a limited but appealing collection of newer residences. Over the past decade, a number of modern single-family homes and luxury townhomes have been thoughtfully integrated into the streetscape, appealing to buyers seeking contemporary design without sacrificing location.
With its lush landscapes, walkable setting, and architectural diversity, Southland Park attracts buyers who appreciate both history and lifestyle. Properties range from beautifully restored historic homes to newer residences commanding several million dollars, underscoring the neighborhood’s desirability and enduring appeal. For those seeking sophistication, character, and a prime coastal location, Southland Park remains one of West Palm Beach’s most distinguished residential enclaves.
A Few of Our Favorite Places:
Joseph’s Classic Market – One of my favorite spots is Joseph’s Classic Market — a family-owned Italian market that feels like home. They have incredible prepared foods, a great deli, fresh breads and pastries, beautiful meats and seafood, and even a New York–style pizza counter. It’s my go-to place whether I’m picking up dinner or grabbing something fresh for the weekend.
Halls Hardware – Halls Hardware has been family-owned and operated since 1945, and is “here to serve” – a mantra that is reflected in the consistently high level of service every time. Whether you have a big project or small, they are there to guide you every step of the way. They also have a treasure trove of wonderful products for the kitchen and home – at wonderfully affordable prices – all hidden within the fully packed shelves. It is a true experience!
Common Grounds Brew and Roastery - One of my favorite coffee spots is Common Grounds Brew & Roastery in West Palm Beach — it’s a neighborhood gem where specialty coffee meets real community. Their beans are roasted in-house, always fresh and nuanced, and every barista seems to actually care — they’ll call you by name, help you try something new, or just hand you your latte with a friendly smile. The space is cozy and relaxing, perfect for catching up with friends, getting some work done, or enjoying a quiet moment with a pastry and a cappuccino.
16 Handles – One of the best frozen yogurt places around – and a local hangout for all ages – with a small garden with tables and chairs to socialize with neighbors and enjoy your treat. The real attraction here is the frozen yogurt, which comes in a variety of specialty made flavors. Just grab a cup, chose from 10 flavors – mix and match as much as you like – then go to the toppings bar, and add anything and everything you want. The kind and efficient staff will weigh your cup, and charge you based on the weight. The best part – you get exactly what you want – and it’s the best around!
